Sharon has a wealth of VAT experience spanning some 30 years both within HMRC and private practice.

She commenced her VAT career in what was then HM Customs & Excise where she carried out various different VAT roles over a period of 12 years. This included time as a VAT inspector and as a technical enquiries officer, which gave Sharon a solid background in all areas of VAT as well as an understanding of the mind of a VAT officer which has been invaluable in assisting clients. She continued her career in a top 10 accountancy firm followed by a boutique firm prior to joining Rawlinson & Hunter.

Sharon has an extensive knowledge of all areas of VAT with particular expertise in relation to Art Galleries & Artists, Financial Services, Land & Property and overseas businesses investing in the UK. Sharon enjoys assisting her clients in navigating complex VAT legislation in order to avoid costly errors and maximise opportunities. She excels in explaining VAT legislation tailored to the needs of her clients.

Sharon is also an active member of The VAT Practitioners Group keeping abreast of latest developments in legislation.
