Andrew is a tax specialist of over 30 years standing, having built his reputation by utilising an ideas-led approach to secure the best possible tax result for entrepreneurs, businesses, shareholders and employees. He believes that the key to being a valued adviser and leader is by building relationships based on trust, collaboration, expertise and plain-speaking, and by bringing innovative ideas to the table.
Andrew leads the Firm's Stamp Duty Land Tax (“SDLT”) team which helps guide clients and their solicitors through the complex SDLT rules, including providing detailed advice and practical guidance on complex property transactions involving multiple completions, multiple purchasers, mixed residential and non-residential purchases, as well as a variety of substantial residential and commercial lease transactions.
After graduating from Cambridge University, Andrew spent 14 years with Deloitte in London before joining the Firm as a partner in 2008. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
Andrew is the author of the history of Rawlinson & Hunter which he researched and wrote during the first pandemic lockdown. He hopes to still be around to celebrate the Firm's 100th anniversary in 2033.
